Yew Chung Schools (Mainland China)

Yew Chung International Schools (YCIS) have pioneered a new paradigm in international education. YCIS define international education by what goes on inside the student. This is affected by the school’s culture, which is created by the teaching and learning environment, the administration, and can be seen in the content and process of education that leads the students to an inner transformation whereby they are both Eastern and Western.

This truly international education, which combines the best of the Eastern and Western pedagogies and philosophies and adopts age-appropriate and modern information technology and teaching strategies, results in students who excel in academic and linguistic abilities, character and global outlook.

Education Programme

YCIS’ international curriculum is based on the framework and schemes of work from the National Curriculum for England (NCE) for overseas (including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) students from early childhood education, primary, to secondary programmes (aged two to 18 years old) and leads to the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) programme and pre-university, two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The qualifications give students access to world’s most prestigious universities.

YCIS has designed World Classroom and China Classroom for students. They are a teaching concept beyond campus, and further realise the core of Yew Chung’s education – experiencing and topic studies. World Classroom is a unique project of Yew Chung’s global education, which gives students opportunity to learn and understand the main cultures in the world.

China Classroom turns different places in China into classrooms and students learn from the experience during the journey. Through what they see and hear, and what they learn and think, students connect abstract knowledge with real experience so as to thoroughly learn Chinese history, geography, culture, etc.

Outstanding University Acceptance

YCIS students are accepted into prestigious universities around the world such as University of Cambridge, University of Oxford in the UK; Princeton University, Stanford University, Brown University, University of Pennsylvania in the US; University of Waterloo, University of Toronto, University of British Columbia in Canada; University of Hong Kong, and other universities in Finland, Switzerland, Belgium, Australia, Korea, and Japan. With the solid foundation provided by YCIS, they continue to excel in their chosen fields and professions.
